Our bus chose a nice spot to break down (for the third time that day). We were on the shores of Lake Viedma on our way to the small town of El Chalten where we would trek for 5 days around Cerro Fitz Roy.

The town of El Chalten didn't exist 10 years ago and now serves a growing number of trekkers and climbers. About 500 people live there year round.

We had a gorgeous day to see the torres our first day out.

The second day we hiked to the base of Piedras Blancas and spent a few hours lying in the sun and admiring its beauty.

On the other side of the park is Cerro Torre, an equally stunning spot.
